On 8 September 2016, at 9.00AM, Rear Admiral Wachara Karunyavanij, President of ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) and Deputy Director of ONESQA, together with Mr. Ekaphong Lauhathiansind, Senior Expert, Mrs. Weeranuch Suksawang (Head, Policy and Strategy Section) and Miss Natthayanee Chantaplaboon(Foreign Relations Officer) visited SEAMEO-RIHED.

          Dr. Chantavit Sujatanond, Centre Director of SEAMEO-RIHED warmly welcomed and introduced the history of SEAMEO-RIHED as well as its activities and future plan. She stated that there is expectation for the ASEAN Quality Assurance to be recognized internationally and she suggested that Thailand has potential to become QA leader in the region but what Thailand lacks are human resources to support and to carry out the implementation of regional QA seriously and continuously. However, AQAN, with the common efforts of its members, was established to strengthen quality assurance in ASEAN, she recommended that AQAN should soon implement ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF) by first setting up KPIs and develop concrete action plan for the effective implementation of AQAF.
