On 4 May 2017, AQAN as one of entities associated with ASEAN led by RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, Deputy Director of ONESQA in the capacity of President of ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN), Prof. Dr. Chan Basaruddin, AQAN Vice President, and Prof. Zita Mohd Fahmi, AQAN Secretary attended the Forum of Entities Associated with ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Forum was held by the ASEAN Secretariat to gather all entities associated with ASEAN as well as its related centers and institutions. The main objective was to raise awareness of these entities associated with ASEAN to understand about the ASEAN activities and how these entities may engage with ASEAN sectoral bodies. The ASEAN Secretariat also took this opportunity to brief its associated entities on privileges and obligations, as well as to provide a platform to explore possible cooperation among the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN related bodies and entities and/or among the entities themselves, and to encourage ASEAN associated entities to take part and/or initiate its own activities or projects to commemorate the 50^th Anniversary of the Establishment of ASEAN.

The forum started with opening remarks by H.E. Dr. AKP Mochtan, Deputy Secretary-General, Community & Corporate Affairs Department, ASEAN Secretariat followed by the dialogue on privileges and obligations of Entities Associated with ASEAN, guidelines for the use of ASEAN name, logo, anthem, and projects and funding mechanism etc. It was concluded with the discussion on cooperation between ASEAN agencies and the participated associated entities.
