ONESQA in cooperation with OHEC and EU SHARE co-organized the SHARE Symposium on the Consequences of Regional Quality Assurance and Qualifications Framework on Higher Education in Thailand during August 31 - September 1, 2017 at the Pullman King Power Rangnam Hotel

During August 31 – September 1, 2017 The Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (Public Organization) or ONESQA in cooperation with the Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC) and the European Union Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (EU SHARE) co-organized the SHARE Symposium on the Consequences of Regional Quality Assurance and Qualifications Framework on Higher Education in Thailand at the Pullman King Power Rangnam Hotel. The symposium was joined by more than 213 participants from 17 different countries.

 

At the opening ceremony of the SHARE Symposium, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Namon Jeerungsuwan, ONESQA Director, said that the Symposium provided Thai academics and QA officers of higher education institutions in Thailand to have better understanding and aware the significance of the consequences of the regional QA and QA on Thai higher education and be able to align institutional QA with the ASEAN Regional QA and QF in the near future.

 

There were more than 20 speakers who were experts from various countries around the world such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bundit Thipakorn, Deputy Secretary-General for Higher Education Commission, Thailand; Assoc. Prof. Damrong Thawesaengskulthai, Member of the Committee for Development of Assessment Systems for Higher Education, ONESQA, Thailand; Prof. Zita Mohd Fahmi, Secretary of ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN), Malaysia; Dr. Padraig Walsh, President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) from EU; Mr. Achim Hopbach Managing Director, Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria, Austria; Mr. Frederik de Decker, Head of the International Office, Ghent University, Belgium. The speakers presented and shared their perspectives and experiences on the quality assurance systems including the Regional Quality Assurance Frameworks and Qualifications Framework. They have shared their lessons-learned for the alignment national frameworks to the regional QA and QF, as well as the future direction of the QA.
