ONESQA attended the ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) Executive Committee Meeting No. 2/2017 and ASEAN External Quality Assurance Agency Workshop in Bali, Indonesia

          On 8 August 2017, RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, Deputy Director of ONESQA in the capacity of President of AQAN chaired the ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) Executive Committee Meeting (ECM) No. 2/2017 at Courtyard Marriot, Bali Nusa Dua Resort, Bali, Indonesia.

          The meeting was joined by the executive committee members from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.  The delegations from ONESQA, Thailand included Mr. Ekaphong Lauhathiansind, Senior Expert; Dr. Somyot Cheejaeng, Head of Policy and Strategy Bureau; and Ms. Sininard Wangdee, Foreign Relations Officer.

          The executive members acknowledged as follows: (1) 2017 AQAN activities, (2) AQAN financial matters, (3) cooperation under EU SHARE Project, (4) 2017 AQAN Strategic Plan 2018-2022. The meeting was informed about the upcoming AQAN Executive Committee Meeting No. 3/2017 on 24 September 2017, and AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting National on 25 – 26 September 2017in Champasak Province, Lao PDR to be hosted by the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR.

          On 9 August 2017, RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, in the capacity of the President of AQAN delivered an opening speech at the ASEAN External Quality Assurance Agency Workshop. The workshop entitled “Sharing Good Practices on Standards, Procedures, and Assessor Development” was held by National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and AQAN on 9-10 August 2017. Its main objective is to provide the opportunity for AQAN members to share their experiences and good practices particularly on the implementation of accreditation in their countries. Dr. Somyot Cheejaeng as a representative from Thailand also presented about ONESQA’s Assessors Training and Development.
