Upon recognising that the importance of streamlining the external assessment system, a quality reviewer plays a significant role in the evaluation process and is vital in driving the quality of the entire process of educational management. It is for this reason that a quality reviewer needs to be able to investigate and analyse data and empirical evidence as well as to give very significant feedback effects leading to improve the quality of educational provision.

The Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA), Thailand in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the United Kingdom conducted the Professional Development Programme for Reviewers entitled “Desk-based Analysis and Effective Review Report Writing” on 1 – 4 September 2020 through virtual training means with QAA facilitators based in UK, ONESQA and Thai external Quality reviewers based in Thailand. The overall goal of this four-day professional development programme aims to upgrade knowledge and enhance skills of the external quality reviewers by focusing on two key areas which are the systematic approach to analyse the self-evaluation document and supporting evidence and the writing an effective review outcome with a recommendation. Additionally, one of activities of the training focused on the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education and the structure approaches of international quality review based on the international and British practices.
