On July 25, 2023, ONESQA has officially endorsed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics or “ASIIN,” Dusseldorf, Germany.  ASIIN is a recognized German and European accreditation agency especially in the educational areas of technology, engineering and industrial evolution.  The agency views quality of study both at the program and the institutional levels, and focuses on a result of a successfully operating qualification process leading to the attainment of the intended learning outcomes for the students. ASIIN currently evaluates over 6,000 study programmes and provides quality assurance services for almost 400 institutions in approximately 62 countries around the world.

Represented by ONESQA Acting Director, Dr. Nantha Nguantad, has invited Prof. Dr. Iring Wasser, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASIIN for a short visit to sign an MOU collaborating on issues involving both Higher Education (HE) as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for External Quality Assurance (EQA) joint program accreditation processes.  The signing agreement is to signify the launching of the Joint Accreditation EQA program initiatives with TVET academic institutions under ONESQA authorities. The MOU also serves as the continuation of ASIIN and ONESQA collaboration efforts in the area of higher education quality assurance matters.

Via online and onsite presentations, Prof. Dr. Iring Wasser provided consultation and guidance on ASIIN Maturity Model to the selected ONESQA TVET Committee Board Members. The discussions laid the foundation for subsequent joint EQA analysis, implementation and adaptation procedures.  The ASIIN and ONESQA’s partnership has now been rejuvenated since the ASIIN’s visitation during the ONESQA Annual International Conference 2014. International partnership initiated with the two national EQA agencies will undoubtedly establish a strong diplomatic enterprise leading to the empowerment of Asian and European cross-border education through EQA educational exchange activities.
