Next Step for ONESQA: Prof. Dr. Ong-art Naiyapatana as AQAN Vice President
On March 20, 2025, Prof. Dr. Ong-art Naiyapatana, Director of ONESQA, participated virtually in the special Annual General Meeting of AQAN (ASEAN Quality Assurance Network) for 2025, accompanied by Dr. Kittiya Evans, Deputy Director, and the International Affairs Unit. This meeting marked his first interaction with members of the AQAN Executive Committee and representatives from ASEAN quality assurance agencies.
The key agenda item for this special meeting was the election of Executive Committee members for the next term. Representatives from seven ASEAN member countries— Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos PDR, and Thailand, —participated in the voting process. The meeting successfully reached a consensus on the composition of the AQAN Executive Committee for the next term, which includes:
The meeting expressed appreciation to Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Bin Sabran from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for successfully completing his three-year term as AQAN President. Congratulations were also extended to CHED on assuming the presidency, to ONESQA on being elected Vice President, and to the newly appointed Executive Committee members for the 2025–2027 term.
This marks a significant milestone under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ong-art Naiyapatana. ONESQA will collaborate closely with the AQAN President and Committee members to support the development of a harmonized regional quality assurance framework.
